Euclid’s Work Algorithms
300-Case Reconstruction

A research-style reconstruction of Euclid’s possible working methods from the surviving Euclidean corpus. Each case is treated as a lecture-level proposition, book section, theorem-cluster, or attributed-work fragment. The histogram is an overlapping strategy-prevalence estimate: percentages need not sum to 100% because one case can use several strategies.

Reconstruction Rule

Euclid’s surviving corpus is not a modern journal-paper corpus. This page therefore treats propositions, book sections, theorem clusters, constructions, and transmitted attributed-work units as “lecture cases.” The 300-case corpus is a structured reconstruction from Elements, Data, Optics, Phaenomena, and cautiously attributed or lost works, not a claim of 300 distinct published papers.

Overlapping Strategy Prevalence

Bar width means: cases using the strategy divided by 300. The percentages are not normalized to sum to 100% because Euclidean propositions often combine construction, diagram, proportion, and proof-order strategies simultaneously.
